MARCELLO CERCHIARA
(Optical Dispenser/Mechanic) Marcello has been working in the optical industry as an optical mechanic and dispenser since 1986. He completed his qualifications at RMIT after 4 years of study in all facets of fitting and surfacing of optical lenses, culminating in the dispensing of prescription spectacles. Marcello has witnessed all the advancements made by research and development in optical lens technology throughout this time, which allows him to draw on all his experience to give you the best fit glasses possible. Appointments are recommended as Marcello likes to spend time with you in order to ascertain which lenses, style, frame & fit will work best to suit your lifestyle. |

Paul Georgos
(Optometrist) Paul graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1988. Practicing in Melbourne CBD for the last 25 years and at Contax Optica since 2004. Paul has worked closely with the founder of Contax Optica, Tony Jackson, enhancing his passion for contact lens fitting, building a happy and loyal patient following along the way. Although Paul enjoys all aspects of optometry, he has a particular interest in contact lens fittings, and specializes in contact lenses for keratoconus patients, gas permeable, mini scleral and multi-focal lenses and complex prescriptions. Having worked at Eye Specialists and laser corrective surgery clinics in the past, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Contax Optica. |

Laura Romeo
(Optometrist) Laura graduated from the University of Melbourne Doctor of Optometry program in 2020. Since graduating, she has practiced primarily in regional Victoria, advancing her skill and expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex eye diseases. Laura has a passion for all areas of optometry, but her particular areas of interest include anterior eye disease, dry eye management and myopia control in children. |

Belinda De Vos
(Practice Manager) Belinda is a qualified optical technician and dispenser. She has worked in the optical industry since 1992. She started at Contax Optica in 1999 and has been part of the team ever since. As well as being Practice Manager at Contax Optica, Belinda also assists both Tony and Paul with contact lens patients carrying out all the contact lens tuitions for hard and soft contact lens wearers. Her patient and understanding nature make her perfect for this position. |

Jean
(Optical Reception) Jean began working in the optical industry in 1987 as an optical receptionist. She assisted the attending optometrist in auto refraction, auto eye pressure & visual field tests. In 2001 she joined the Contax Optica Group. As well as general reception duties, Jean also performs contact lens insertion and removal of both hard and soft contact lenses. |

Olivia
(Accounts/Reception) Olivia handles all the accounts and marketing at Contax Optica as well as helping with reception duties. She has been in the optical industry for 3 years and has a real passion for optics and assisting people. |

Yoko
(Optical Reception) Yoko is originally from Fukuoka in Japan moving to Australia in 2000 and has been with Contax Optica since 2002 helping our Japanese clients with their contact lens needs. She has now been in the city office since 2018 as a valued member of our team. |

Tracey
(Optical Reception) Tracey is the newest member of the team also helping with reception duties and brings with her a wealth experience having worked in the corporate sector as a PA. |
